How Art is Enjoyed
Art is enjoyed by sharing stories!
There are three stories that people share about art.
The Art's Story
The Artist's Story
The Purchase Story
The Art's Story is what is shared about the theme, technique and medium of the piece. "This is a surrealistic painting depicting strangely hallucinatory characters flowing as if made from melting wax. The paint is applied with haunting precision."
The Artist's Story is what is shared about the artist. "The artist was a Spanish painter with a strange mustache who described his pictures as hand-painted dream photographs."
The Purchase Story is what is shared about the experience of buying the art. "I bought this poster last August. I was visiting the Salvador Dali’s museum in his birthtown of Figueras and the melting clocks reminded me how wonderful air conditioning is and how short my vacation was!"
Since people enjoy art through sharing stories - stories help sell art and increase its perceived value. The more personal these stories are, the deeper the relationship you will have with your Patron. The deeper your relationship is with your parton, the more value they place on your art.
